FAMILY HISTORY RESEARCH

Whilst specialising in genealogical research in Somerset, Dorset, Devon and Wiltshire in south-west England and London, Hertfordshire and Essex in the south-east, projects in any part of England, Wales and Scotland may be undertaken.  

Each piece of research is tailored to your individual requirements; research requests may be anything from short searches of parish registers (minimum charge, one hour) to complex research resulting in a full family history.  Research is charged at a competitive hourly rate and includes a comprehensive written report.

For those who simply require the supply of certificates, census entries and wills, a basic, set-fee service is available.

FAMILY HISTORY PACKAGES

Family history packages are available for those wishing to commission a professionally-researched family history.  A number of packages are available to meet different requirements and budgets.

Please note that a lead time of three months applies to these packages, although a shorter timescale is sometimes possible.

RESEARCH ADVICE AND GUIDANCE

Many people begin researching their roots using online resources.  Whilst it is exciting to find an ancestor’s birth, or to locate a great-aunt in a census return, most people will have had mixed results from their searches.  Perhaps an ancestor apparently vanished from the census returns or you are unable to trace a particular marriage. Others may have reached the point where they do not know how to progress further, or want to discover more about the lives of their ancestors.
